The views and the trees on the farm are stunning
The bottom of the upstairs windows are at the floor level.
Above: the stairway to the second floor.
Above: The kitchen windows which look north, are in the same spot as the original entry door.
Above: One of my very favorite George Stair family photos. You can see the double roof of the house which is clearly apparent in this photo. Also, Bonnie, who lives in the house told me that when the house was remodeled, the entry door was moved from the middle of the north side as seen here, to the west end of the north side how it is today. The original location of the door as seen here is now windows in the kitchen.  Below is another version of the picture, with a key to see who is all in this picture...
Note the double roof line (photos above) on the north side of the house- this is for the purpose of recognizing the house in the following family picture...
The date "June 1868" can be seen high above the ground, between the two upper windows. It is assumed this is when the house was built. Bonnie told us that when house was recently painted, the painter was kind enough to "highlight" the date he found.

The George Stair family moved to this house twice. First in early 1917. Then the family moved to what is now the Wern farms and lived in the house on the east side of the rail road tracks on Hwy D, which is where Homer was born in 1919. The George Stair family then moved back to this farm in Mukwonago and were there for many years.
The east facing wall of the house has a very interesting date, almost hidden, way toward the top between the upper two windows...
The farm that George Stair farmed for years (and the family lived on) was at the Northeast intersection of Hwys "I" and 83 in the Town of Mukwonago. The house is hidden way back off the road.  The farm is currently (and has been for years ) owned by the Schuett family. It was with the permission of a Schuett family member that I approached their renter to see the house. Bonnie has been so gracious and generous with both her time and enthusiasm to grant us not only a tour of the house, but a wonderful tour of the entire farm. Without the Schuetts, and Bonnie's generosity, the following pictures and information would not have been possible...
